From a young age, I was captivated by the world of art, sketching and imagining endlessly. In the early 2000s, my curiosity found a new canvas on GeoCities, where I discovered the joy of designing websites and bringing ideas to life digitally.
This passion led me to pursue computer science at Clark Community College, where I quickly realized that while engineers excel in logic and structure, they often overlook the artistry and user-focused design that make technology truly engaging. Seeking to bridge that gap, I transferred to WSUV to immerse myself in Digital Technology and Culture (DTC), combining technical skills with a creative mindset to craft seamless, user-centered experiences.
I come from a family of resilience and ambition. My father, a survivor of the Khmer Rouge, immigrated to America and built a career as a personal jeweler. My mother, originally an exchange student from the Philippines, embraced her entrepreneurial spirit and started her own business. Their stories have inspired me to work hard, think creatively, and follow my passions with determination.
Growing up, I was captivated by the vibrant world of pop culture—cartoons, comics, and even the colorful 90s TV commercials. Everything felt so visually stimulating and full of life, inspiring me to pick up a pencil and start creating art that captured that same energy and excitement.
That early fascination with vibrant visuals and creativity didn’t just shape my love for art—it also sparked a resourceful mindset. Today, I channel that creativity into recycling, reducing e-waste, and DIY projects. I enjoy fixing appliances and electronics, creating makeshift tools, and finding innovative ways to give old items new life. It’s all about blending imagination with sustainability.
